‘A Series of Interruptions’ documents the fragmented ways of working when you have a newborn. Trains of thought get derailed as you respond constantly to the new human in your care. These weavings were made during short breaks, while my son was napping. The rule of the game was I could continue a pattern or theme for as long as he slept. His naps would range from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I wanted to make this work as a way to accept, that the time I used to have to myself to make work was now altered, things were different and I have to adapt to this new way of life. The weaving also served as a way to reclaim time for myself in little bursts, and my weaving room / baby change room was a haven amidst the chaos.
